A cryogenic vaporizer converts a liquid product such as nitrogen, oxygen, argon or LNG into gas at a specified pressure and temperature. The selection affects process stability, energy use, footprint and maintenance. A unit that matches only the peak flow on a data sheet may still fail to deliver the required outlet condition during a cold spell or extended operating period.
- Define the required gas flow and outlet condition before selecting a vaporizer
- Understand why ambient temperature, humidity and wind affect air-heated units
- Compare electric, water bath and steam heat sources against site utilities
- Allow for icing, defrosting, redundancy and changing operating conditions
- Give vendors a complete duty profile rather than a single nominal flow
